with all Motorhome & Camper Hire

Do I need a special driving licence?

Most of our motorhomes & campers can be driven on normal driving licences. Only the 6 berth Swift Sundance & the 7 berth McLouis Tandy motorhomes requires that you to hold a Category C1 entitlement on your driving licence. Basically, what this means is that if you passed your driving test before 1997 then the C1 Category should automatically be on your driving licence. All our other Motorhomes, Classic Campers and VW California's can be driven on normal licences.

Do you offer any long term hire discounts?

Yes, discounts start after two weeks hire, please enquire.

How long should I allow for the handover when I come to collect the motorhome or camper?

If it is your first time in a motorhome or camper, we would like to spend at least one hour with you running through the controls and fittings, so that you will leave us feeling comfortable using everything. Please be prepared for wait for half an hour for inspection on return of the vehicle.

When can I collect the motorhome or camper?

You can collect the motorhome or camper between 3.30pm and 5.30pm on the day of hire, unless otherwise pre arranged. On occasions your motorhome or camper may be ready earlier in the day. We will contact you if this is the case.

You have to return the motorhome or camper before 10am on the last day of the hire period, unless otherwise pre arranged.

Airport Collection - the most economically way is by taxi - 15-20 mins from Manchester Airport. Manchester Piccadilly/Victoria Train Station Collection - the most economically way is by taxi - 15-20 mins from either station. On the last day of the hire, we can arrange a taxi for you and this is £20.00 approx.

Do you have a list of camp sites that I can use?

Yes, UK & European campsite guides are provided in each motorhome or camper, along with a temporary membership to the Camping & Caravanning Club.

Can I take a hired motorhome to Europe?

Yes, but you must arrange this when you book the hire. It must be stated in the Rental Agreement. European Insurance cover note, breakdown assistance and all the compulsory driving kit is included in your European Pack. There is no charge for European use for bookings. Minimum hire for European use is 1 week. Our Classic Camper is for UK mainland use only.

What are the seating arrangements for passengers?

In our Motorhomes (except the 7 berth Tandy Motorhome), all forward facing seats are provided with three point seat belts, and all rearward facing seats are provided with lap belts or three point seat belts.  How will I know how it all works?

When you pick up your hire motorhome or camper you will be shown how all the main systems work. There will also be a handbook in the motorhome. We also give you our mobile telephone number so you can call us any day of the week including weekends, evenings and Bank Holidays We would rather you give us a call if you have any problems while hiring one of our motorhomes or campers. First time hirers are really reassured with this service and have complete peace of mind while away.

How difficult is it to drive a motorhome - aren’t they very large?

On the whole, it is not too difficult. The smaller models, based on vans, are not much bigger than a large car and are pretty similar to drive. Larger, coach built motorhomes designed for families benefit from being based around modern vans, with good driving positions, large mirrors and power steering - so they are not as difficult as you might think.

 What Insurance do you provide?

Our Motorhomes have comprehensive insurance on the UK mainland for the named drivers on the hire agreement for the period of the hire, please note that this does note cover your personal property and you are advised to arrange holiday insurance separately.

You may take the Motorhome to Ireland or Western Europe, but we need to know in advance as you will need our European Travel Pack. (European cover is subject to approval by our insurers and is limited to average 250 miles per day)

Insurance Loading. Easy Hire Motorhomes Ltd may incur additional charges if the driver to be insured has a traffic conviction, is using a non-UK driving licence or is in an occupation which is deemed high-risk. These charges will be passed on to the hirer.

Standard Excess. There is a standard excess of £750.00. In the event of any damage to either the vehicle or third party property, the hirer will be liable for up to the first £750.00. The hirer will also be fully liable for replacement or repair of windows or tyre damage.

What MPG can I expect from the motorhome?

You can expect around 30 miles per gallon (mpg) from all of our motorhomes. 40 miles per gallon (mpg) for the VW California. Depending on driving conditions.

Do you have any motorhomes with automatic transmission?

No, all of our vehicles have manual transmission. The Classic Camper is automatic.

Can I smoke in the motorhome?

No, we have a strict NO SMOKING policy.

Are gas and mains hook up leads provided in the motorhome?

Yes, all of our motorhomes are equipped with propane gas cylinders and a 25m mains hook up lead.

What happens if something inside the motorhome breaks while we are on holiday?

If this happens, you should ring us and ask for advice. The equipment in motorhomes is generally reliable and is checked and tested between hires, so you should not expect to experience problems. You will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment is operated correctly and may be liable for repair costs in the event that you fail to do this.

 Are motorhomes all right-hand drive?

All the motorhomes available for hire through this site are right-hand drive, unless stated otherwise.

Do any of your motorhomes have tow bars fitted to them?

No.

What happens if I get a puncture?

In most cases, changing the wheel should not be significantly different to changing the wheel of a car - so if you are comfortable with this, you can do it. If you are not comfortable, you will be able to call out breakdown assistance. Some larger motorhomes may have wheels which are not suitable for changing yourself - you will be advised of this when collecting the vehicle.

What happens if I am in a collision?

Make sure you exchange details with any other parties involved. If the accident is reported to the police, make sure you get a reference number from them. You should also report the accident to your hire company as soon as possible. If anyone is hurt, you must report the accident to the police. Remember to inform us as soon as possible.

 What happens if I breakdown?

You will be given the number of a breakdown assistance service to call when you collect the motorhome. Simply call this number for assistance and also call the hire company to inform them of the problem. Any repair costs may need to be authorised by your hire company before proceeding - make sure you check with them.

Can I cancel my rental motorhome after I’ve booked?

Yes but you will lose your deposit and any hire fees paid. We do advise that you have travel insurance in place to cover any unforeseen cancellation.

Can I have more than one driver?

This is possible and it is fairly common to have two drivers. All drivers will need to produce valid driving licences & ID that meet Easy Hire Motorhomes conditions. Make sure you provide details of the additional driver when booking. There is no extra charge for an additional driver.
